At third year level, the anthropological theories and concepts that have been introduced during first two years of study are further advanced through discussion of thematic case studies and a mini- research project.

The thematic case/area studies shall expose students to the following ethnographic perspectives, amongst others (depending on the expertise of available staff):

• Medical Anthropology
• Ecological Anthropology
• Maritime Anthropology
• Applied Anthropology
• Indigenous Knowledge Systems
• Music as Communication and Social Practice
• Anthropology of Play
• Post Human Perspectives
• Contemporary Theory in Practice
• Heritage, Sustainability and Development
• Forensic Anthropology/Archaeology

Please note: To enrol for ANT3, you will need to have passed ANT2.
